  Dear Sir, I stopped at you restaurant on my way home from shopping to use a voucher that was valid from 1March - 1Sept. I went to the bar to order my meal and produced the voucher for my meal - which was the 2 courses for 10 pounds. The guy said he didnt need to see the voucher at this point but would deal with it on payment. When my bill arrived it was way over what I expected to pay, so pointed this out to the courteous lady that served me. She took it back to the same guy that originally served me and he returned to point out that the voucher could not be used for the offer of 2courses for 10 pounds, so I would have to pay the full price. I asked why he didnt mention this to me when I ordered my meal and produced the voucher (which he didnt want to see at the time) and he said thats our policy and theres nothing I can do about it. He had a second look at the voucher and said its a long while since you were sent this voucher. I pointed out that it was still withing the time frame of 6 months and he once again said he could not do a thing about it. I told him to speak with Emma/Tracey whose names were on the voucher and he said there have never been any staff by that name working there (making me feel very embarrassed by now - like I was trying to get a free meal that I was not entitled to). I told him to ask some of the other staff as they might remember and he said...Ive been here 6 months now and all the other staff started after me, so they wont know. By now I was getting very frustrated by him and told him to phone head office and sort it out (as it really wasnt my problem) so he did so and returned to say - it was all sorted. The lady that served me returned with the revised bill and looked rather embarrassed about the whole scenario and apologised. I asked her how long shed worked there and she said 1 year, when the guy told me all the staff were there less than 6 months. She could sense my embarrassement, so she kindly offered me a complimentary coffee (on her), which was a kind gesture on her part, albeit it didnt alter the fact that I was put in a very odd situation through no fault of my own, while all the other staff kept looking over to see what was going on (which made me feel like a fraud). Bottom line is, the guy shouldve checked my voucher when I handed it to him when ordering and this wouldve ssved all the aggro. Hope you will look into this very unpleasant situation and inform your staff to check vouchers when they are produced and not at the end of the meal. Hope to hear from you concerning this matter.
